UFree Network to join a 24-Hour mass hunger Strike in Solidarity with Palestinian hunger striker Samer al Essawi

UFree Network to defend the rights of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails announced its full support and involvement in the 24-Hour mass hunger strike in solidarity with Palestinian hunger striker Samer al Essawi and all Palestinian detainees which will start tomorrow Monday, 7th January 2013. 24-Hour mass hunger Strike is initiated by a number of Palestinian, European, American and Arab organisations. UFree also renew its call to maintain solidarity and support for prisoner Samir al Essawi who is on hunger strike in Israel jails for 164 days. It also urges people to step up their support and actions for all Palestinian prisoners especially those on hunger strike seeking their freedom. Meanwhile, the organisation calls on International organisations to put an end for Israeli arbitrary and administrative detention exerted against Palestinian people in occupied Palestine. The 24-Hour mass hunger Strike campaign includes different activities to support Palestinian prisoners and raise awareness of their plight. Those engaged in the strike are expected to carry out a Hunger strike for 24 hours. Additionally, pickets will take place in European capitals and also in Washington DC. Furthermore, mobilising and advocacy letters will be sent to politicians and decision makers worldwide seeking their support and contribution to end human rights violation done by Israel. Amongst the key participating organisation is Ahrar Centre for Prisoners Studies, Kasr Alqaid foundation, Palestinian Study Centre for Prisoners, Palestine Supporter organisation, Fida’ organisation to support Palestinian cause, Prisoners’ News the electronic page and the popular Facebook page Activists around the world for Palestine. In this occasion, UFree invite people to widely participate in this action which will contribute to raising awareness of Palestinian prisoners.
