The objective of the Forum is to bring talent and ensure communication between them to work on lifting Iraq out of the ongoing crisis.


Scores of Iraqi elites and competencies met in the Turkish city of Istanbul Friday on their founding conference of the (Iraqi Forum of Intellectuals and Academics) as the first independent professional organization of Iraqi technocrats with various academic disciplines and professional specialties.

During the first session of the conference, 240 Iraqi personality along with academics, diplomats, former Ministers and professionals from 27 countries discuss the Statute of the Forum and its specialty, participants also heard words of academics and professionals.

Press reports attributed to (Zafer Shaker Mahmoud) Administrative Coordinator for the Conference as saying: will on Sunday elect the Secretariat of the Forum Secretary-General, his Deputy and the heads of 12 specialized Commission. ". Noting that the Forum has committees on legal, economic, educational and other management, statistics and strategic planning, energy, humanities and social sciences and others.

The news confirmed that the objective of the Forum is to bring talent and ensure communication between them to benefit from their expertise across a range of tools and instruments referred to in the rules of procedure. Stressing that the diversity of disciplines and skills of the participants in the Conference will enable them to work on lifting Iraq out of the ongoing crisis.

Press reports concluded that: "that article III of the Statute of the Forum offer membership and honorary for each Iraqi origin or nationality of post graduates with practical experience, but to be supportive of the objectives of the Forum, approved by the General Secretariat and paid fees.". The Statute of the Forum, called that the headquarters of the Forum is in Baghdad, but has to be nowadays in the Turkish city of Istanbul because of the current security and political situation in Iraq, which is seen as the more Arab countries producing for scientists and academic elites.
