A member of a council of Arab tribes was exposed to an assassination attempt in the explosion of a bomb by his home in the south of Kirkuk. It caused material damage to his home but injured no one.
Gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons on two civilians in the northeast of Baquba, killing one on the spot and injuring another.
