A member of the Parliament criticized the involvement of the Iranian president in a government “anti-terrorism” conference to be held next month.
Fighters attacked a bus carrying workers for the Ministry of Industry in the north of Baghdad, killing seven of its employees and severely injuring an eighth. A car filled with explosives blew up outside the house of the father of the current Minister of Finance in central Fallujah. Two of his guards were killed and four more were injured.
The government forces raided nearby homes in the neighborhood.
Gunmen, from their car, opened fire with automatic weapons on two civilians in the east of Baquba, killing them on the spot by a farm in the outskirts of the district. An explosive device targeted a governmental police patrol in the east of Tikrit, killing one of them and injuring another, and killing a nearby civilian and injuring two more. The same happened to a patrol in the west of Mosul, injuring two of the governmental police and a civilian. An explosive device went off by passing civilians in the south of Kirkuk, killing an elementary schooler and injuring two others.
Another explosive device blew up on a sidewalk in the west of Baghdad, injuring a nearby civilian. In the north of Baghdad an explosive device went off beneath a civilian car, injuring three civilians.
An explosive device went off beneath a governmental police patrol in the west of Baghdad, wounding three of them with various degrees of injury. A motorcycle bomb exploded by another governmental police patrol in the south of Kirkuk, injuring three of them. Fighters attacked a government army checkpoint in the north of Mosul, entering into clashes, killing one of the government army and injuring another – resistance casualties were left unmentioned, but they escaped.
The government forces imposed a curfew on Fallujah because of the assassination attempt on the Ministry of Finance, carrying out thorough searches and raids in residential neighborhoods in the area. The government forces carried out search and raid operations in the provinces of Diyala, Al-Anbar, Salah Ad-Din, and Babil, detaining forty-one people without valid charges and taking them away. Forces of the government army continued to increase pressure on Baghdad as well, imposing strict measures on Al-Amiriyah district in the west of Baghdad. They closed down streets and shops in the area and set up a number of extra checkpoints around the district. People were prevented from entering and exiting the district. In the midst of this, arbitrary arrests, without charges, took hold of dozens of civilians in the area.
