What was not expected to be glossed over by a senior media anchor while referring to the publication of Hillary Clinton’s book “Hard Choices,” is that the advice and decisions of the former Secretary of State not only impacted adversely on the administration of President Obama, while leading to the murder of a US diplomat in Benghazi responsible for the funding and arming of Islamist mercenaries in Libya to be deployed to Syria among other regions apart from the graver impact of these missions flagrantly in violation of the UN Charter and International Law.
In a recent interview of 21st June, NDTV’s ( New Delhi Television ) illustrious journalist and TV anchor, Barkha Dutt hosted Hillary Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State speculated as a Presidential hopeful of the Democratic Party for the 2016 election. Intended as a public relations exercise for Hillary Clinton or for building bridges with the new Indian administration of the BJP party headed by Prime Minister Modi, was an exercise not in objectivity but in obsequious flattery, revealed at the outset by the fawning remark unbecoming of a senior anchor :
“India knows you, admires you, loves you, Secretary Clinton”.
What was not expected to be glossed over in this interview by a senior media anchor while referring to the publication of Hillary Clinton’s book “Hard Choices,” is that the advice and decisions of the former Secretary of State not only impacted adversely on the administration of President Obama, while leading to the murder of a US diplomat in Benghazi responsible for the funding and arming of Islamist mercenaries in Libya to be deployed in Syria among other regions apart from the graver impact of these “missions” flagrantly in violation of the UN Charter and International Law.
Despite NDTV’s attempt to project a softer image of the former Secretary of State; the world over Hillary Clinton is remembered for her infamous remark on national television with regard to the murder of the late Libyan President Qaddafi in the aftermath of the gruesome killing, which shook the world and all foreign chanceries:“We came, we saw and he died “.
Bombing, killing and maiming thousands with continuing impact on the lives of millions of people of the region in Libya, in Syria, in Iraq, in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and on the fragile relationship between Pakistan and India, and on Iran, which was the object of a hysterical campaign waged by the Secretary of State in collaboration with Israel, imposing sanctions which affected not only Iran but major countries and regions trading with Iran again in flagrant violation of International law, directly leading to many governments seriously considering and adopting settling of trade relations in currencies other than the dollar which has seen the steady emergence of a Multi-polar world order.
All these important issues that have led to the decline of U.S. power were conveniently glossed over by Barkha Dutt. Not one question was posed on the reality, that the al Qaeda and similar organizations with Islamist nomenclatures are now being seen all over the world as the creation of the United States covert agencies in collaboration with other fraternal Intelligence Agencies of some NATO countries, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the ISI among other agencies in furtherance primarily of US and Zionist aims and objectives in Central and South Asia, in West Asia and even Africa. Missing from the narrative was the question of how the Taliban was first created disclosed by Benazir Bhutto in a TV interview that it was the creation of the ISI in collaboration with US and UK covert agencies. It is well known both al Qaeda and Taliban were the pretext for the invasion of Afghanistan using the false flag operations of 9/11.
The only plausible explanation for the former Secretary of State, one of the most hawkish in recent years, being spared directly relevant and embarrassing questions, including the reality that the present situation in Iraq continues to be the outcome of US decision making and interference posing a threat to the entire region as the sectarian death squads were first unleashed by the occupation in Iraq, is that Pronoy Roy, Co-founder and Executive Director of NDTV and widely known media personality, was appointed in 2009 as adviser at the Council for Foreign Relations, aka CFR, the influential Washington based ‘Think Tank’ specializing in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs, of which the only other Indian member is Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Company who figures on the Forbes list of the world’s richest billionaires, who has taken over several TV channels and media companies in India. Despite all these cozy relationships forged between private companies and Washington and London, and despite the Indian government’s close proximity to these Capitals, the reality is that the new Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to face the denial of visa to the United States, which seems purely tactical as US companies have been investing in the regional state of Gujarat where he was the Chief Minister.
Barkha Dutt in another serious omission, did not raise with Hillary Clinton one of the most important issues confronting the United State, the emergence of the Multipolar world order and its impact on US policy throughout the world; though aware of the political reality on the ground and of the swift changes, financial, economic and political throughout the world which has already resulted in businessmen and companies in India, looking eastwards to China and Japan, in pursuance of business and commercial relations. It is in keeping with these realities that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last few years, made frequent visits to China and Japan, while heading the regional government of Gujarat. In the days ahead it is the changing financial, economic and geopolitical reality of the world, a reality which the government cannot ignore, which will dictate the foreign policy decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘s government, despite the strategic relationship being forged with Washington and London and despite the fact that some of the most vocal backers and financial contributors to Narendra Modi’s campaign were Non Resident Indians in the United States and the UK some of whom have close ties to the notoriously influential Israel Lobbying group in America, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, aka AIPAC. The present government is aware that if for any reason economic growth in India falters and does not keep pace with aspirations, the ‘neoliberal ‘ mirage will stand exposed for what it is, a fragile and non inclusive pattern of development, generating vast inequalities in income and opportunities denying very basic living standards to vast masses of people. This on the ground reality was camouflaged in the NDTV interview.
For Brakha Dutt’s aid, I present below two videos that accurately expose the former Secretary of State as a reckless, hawkish, self-centered politician during her entire term, which NDTV disgracefully attempted to gloss over.
